Dr Sharmini Arumugam is an Aesthetic Medical Practitioner with over 10 years of experience. A graduate of Manipal Medical College, her clinical expertise revolves around the diagnoses and management of all kinds of pigmentary disorders (especially melasma) and other conditions such as the removal of acne & hypertrophic scars, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and moles, among others.

Dr Sharmini is one of the few doctors in the Southern region of Peninsular Malaysia trained in the field of Ultherapy, an FDA approved skin lifting and tightening treatment that utilizes Micro Focused Ultrasound with Visualizations as part of her special interest.

  • Started working at Mahkota Medical Centre in January 2009 as an A&E Medical Officer for 2.5years, after completing her compulsory Government service in Penang and a brief stint in Maldives( after the tsunami in 2004).
  • She went on to Pioneer the Mahkota Aesthetic (Dermatology) Centre in October 2011.
  • Following this, she pursued her studies further in this field of Aesthetic Medicine  & Anti-aging between 2011 and 2014, in order  to obtain numerous certifications to improve her clinical skills as well as improve her credibility as a clinician.
  • She subsequently cleared her exams for obtaining the Letter of Credentialing & Privelleging (LCP) by the MOH.
