DOCTOR PROFILE

Dato’ Dr Mohamed Ali is the Consultant Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT, is a Consultant at Mahkota Medical Centre with 23yrs experience in Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT. His areas of expertise include Cancer such as breast cancer, lung cancer and thyroid cancer. Coronary artery disease, heart attack or other heart problems. Brain disorders, such as brain tumors, epilepsy, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

He holds fellowships from the IAEA in Clinical Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT. During his tenure in the Malaysian Government, he was heavily involved in helping the Ministry of Health to expand and developed the national nuclear medicine services. He spearheaded the Masters in Nuclear Medicine postgraduate training programme in 2008, which has successfully produced 35 nuclear medicine specialists. For his vast contribution he has been recognized nationally and was conferred the Order of Chivalry Award by the Malaysian Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.

Internationally his expertise has been utilized as a member of the expert consultant panel for an IAEA project for setting up PET centres, in best practices in nuclear medicine and as an expert in the Quality Management Audit in Nuclear Medicine providing services in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates and Algeria. Currently he provides expertise as a PET-CT Consultant.
