Dr Tan Yoh Kai is a general surgeon with a special interest in vascular surgery and advanced training in endovascular procedures. His specialty interests include advance wound care, diabetic foot complications, diabetic limb salvage, venous diseases, and vascular surgery.
As the director of Vascular Services at Changi General Hospital (CGH) from 2009 and 2015, Dr Tan was instrumental in the set up and expansion of Vascular and Endovascular Services in the hospital. Dr Tan was also the founding member and Chairman of Wound Management Committee in CGH where he revamped the wound care service with the introduction of evidence-based and the state-of-the-art wound management techniques in the hospital, leading to the eventual creation of CGH Wound Healing Centre.
Dr. Tan is accredited as a Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM). He is a key opinion leader in wound care and is a member of the Advisory Board for ConvaTec Group, an international medical company specialising in wound and skin care products.
Dr. Tan engages in active research in the field of wound healing and has published several book chapters. He had given numerous talks and chaired workshops held for both public audiences and fellow health care providers. He was also involved in writing up an International Wound Care Consensus in 2019. He was a core faculty member for the SingHealth Residency Program for General Surgery.
