Dr Choy spent the initial 10 years after graduation from medical school, training and working as a radiologist at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He subsequently joined Mahkota Medical Centre and has been a consultant radiologist for the past 26 years. He helped pioneer the MR imaging service at Mahkota Medical Centre in 1996, the first in a Melaka hospital.
