Dr Lau Kai Poh is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Traumatology Surgeon of Regency Specialist Hospital since its inception on 15th November, 2008.
He graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1993 and completed his housemanship in Hospital Sultanah Aminah. He obtained his Post Graduate Diploma of Medicine in Sports Medicine from Edith Cowan University, Australia in 1999.
He further his study in Master of Surgery (Orthopaedic) at National University of Malaysia (UKM) and graduated in 2002. He is also a Certified Independent Medical Assessor (CIMA) which he obtained in 2005.
In 15 years of service with the government, He had served in the various hospitals which include Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Hospital Batu Pahat and Hospital Sultanah Aminah. He also had an attachment in Kantonsspital Aarau, Switzerland in 2004. Over there he actively took part in operation theatre, ward rounds and daily meetings especially cases involved in joint replacement.
He has special interest in joint replacement apart from well versed in trauma and diabetic foot care. He also enjoys teaching and was part-time lecturer of ilMU (Batu Pahat) and Monash University (Johor Bahru). He also active organizing CME and frequently giving talks to medical students and other health care professionals.
